We're thrilled to announce the release of A!Kat 4.8, packed with new functionalities to enhance your interaction and productivity!
YouTube Video Analysis
You can now provide a direct YouTube video URL within the A!Kat File Analysis interface. This is perfect for quickly summarizing long videos like lectures or tutorials. Ask your A!Kat to identify key timestamps, extract full transcripts, analyze main topics, or even generate potential action items from the video's content!
Contextual Suggestion Buttons for File Analysis
After uploading any file (Image, Video, Audio, PDF, Text/Code) or submitting a YouTube URL, you'll see a dynamic set of five suggestion buttons below the chat input. These buttons offer quick, relevant actions tailored to the media type. For example:
- YouTube Links: Summarize, identify key timestamps, extract transcripts, list main topics, or suggest action items.
- Images (including multiple): Describe imagery, extract text (OCR), identify objects, analyze style/mood, or segment objects.
- Uploaded Video Files: Summarize, identify key scenes, generate transcripts, analyze mood/tone, or request a general description.
- Audio Files: Transcribe speech, summarize content, describe musical style, identify instruments/mood, or recommend related artists.
- PDF Files: Summarize the document or its visuals, extract tables or all text, or prepare for a Q&A session about the content.
- Text/Code Files: Summarize text, explain or review code, rewrite text, or extract entities.
Save Prompts / Prompt Library
Located in the "Saved Prompts" expander under the Main Tab in the Sidebar, you can now save your most recently sent prompt with a click of the "Save Last Prompt" button. Saved prompts appear as clickable buttons for quick reuse. Need to edit or delete them? Full management capabilities are available on the A!Kat Library page. This is fantastic for storing complex instructions, creative starters, common templates, or personalized checklists!
A!Kat Alive! Enhancements
- User Camera View: When "camera" is your visual source for A!Kat Alive!, your own camera feed now displays in the main UI window, giving you a direct reference of what your A!Kat sees (if sharing is enabled).
- Text Input Modality: You're no longer limited to voice during A!Kat Alive! sessions! You can now type into the standard chat input box, and your A!Kat will process it and respond audibly.
- A!Kat Subtitles: Spoken responses during an Alive! session now have corresponding text subtitles displayed in the main chat window.
Analyze Multiple Images at Once
The image uploader in the A!Kat File Analysis tab now supports selecting and uploading multiple image files at the same time! Drag and drop or select several images, then send a single prompt to have your A!Kat analyze the entire collection. This is a huge time-saver for comparative analysis, generating narratives from a photo sequence, batch object identification, exploring themes in a set of reference images, or understanding a process documented in screenshots.
